The Spark Behind The Eternal Tree

In August 2024, I came across a touching post from @ClassyXoge, the creator of #Xoge — a community-driven meme token on the XRP Ledger.

They shared a photo of their beloved dog Bits, who had been their faithful companion for nearly two decades. In honor of Bits' passing, ClassyXoge dedicated a permanent memorial on the XRPL: a digital "tombstone" etched forever into the blockchain using #Xoge. The caption read:

"A #Xoge is always with you, even when they need to go. Nearly 2 decades of time, this ones for Bits. Best wishes to my friend. 8/13 5:40pm"

That simple, profound act of preserving a pet's memory on a fast, low-cost, eco-friendly ledger struck me deeply. It showed how blockchain could do more than transactions — it could hold love, loss, and legacy eternally, without fading or fees eating away at the sentiment.

That moment planted the seed for The Eternal Tree of Life.

What if we expanded that idea into a free, glowing forest on XRPL? A community space where anyone could honor loved ones — people, friends, pets — with permanent digital memorials, perhaps as free NFTs (leaves, branches, or trees) that live forever. No costs, no barriers, just peaceful remembrance shared in a supportive community.

Bits' story reminded me: memories deserve to endure. And thanks to the power of XRPL, they can.
